John used to work for the Marines and is the father of the Winchester brothers. He witnessed his wife’s death when she was murdered by Azazel on November 2, 1983, in Sam’s bedroom.
As he raised his sons by himself, he continues to fight the supernatural evil, with the aid of the other hunters he meets in his journeys, such as the customers of Harvelle’s Roadhouse.
